Jerusalem/North to South to North Again

We spent the day driving up and down through Israel today.  Our main stop was Jerusalem.  From there we headed back north toward the Golan Heights to be with Gabe's uncle and aunt David/Fernando and Jackie.

Jerusalem (despite the impossible traffic) was amazing.  We started by paying our respects at the Kotel/Western Wall.  The kids wrote notes with well wishes that they placed in the wall.  My cousin Shalom organized a private tour of the The Chain of Generations Center at the Western Wall.  It was an amazing audio visual glass display of the first generations, moving through time to today.  It was beautiful and although difficult to photograph, very touching.  From there, we spent 2 hours at the tunnels of the Western Wall.  Our guide took us underneath the Wall, to see some of the original pillars and the location of the holy of holies.  Andrew and Adam ate up each and every moment of the tour and it would take me pages to describe all that we saw.  The tour ended in the Muslim quarter and then armed guards escorted us back to the Jewish quarter. We also walked part of the perimeter on the outside of the old city, through the Jaffa gate were we had a view of the Mt. of Olives and various churches.

From Jerusalem we headed back north to Kibbutz Hasolelim.  Traversing a country took 2 hours.... Now, we are ready to be treated to an amazing meal prepared by Jackie, so fortunately, the blog comes earlier today. Unfortunately, the camera battery died so all we have are the pictures below for now.  I have dozens more from today, but they'll have to wait til tomorrow.
